Hide and Seek Tiny 3


This version aim to be the new standard / default version that anyone from lovers of the OG version to players eagers on trying an improved experience should now use

The Most Advanced version of the hide and seek mode that has ever been created ( and yet the most respectful of the og mode legacy), fueled with a tremendous amount of optimisation ,bug fixes, cheat preventions( emotes and certain heroes being able to move freely as hiders) , quality of lifes adjustement , ,a free camera , new heroes , maps and mode supports on top of a new hud , improveds controls , a jet pack , a toggleable radar and many many more on top of being highly customisable throught workshop settings and most importantly fun !


Hosting Advice:

Enable CrossPlay Each time you host a game !

By default the game will set it to Console only/Keyboard only and its not saveable so to get a maximum of players do it each time !

Go to the Lobby Settings (settings/lobby/scroll all the way down) Console/Keyboard Player Only > [OFF]


Main Points :

  • 🌍 Multiple Language Supported , For the first time in hide and seek all the supported languages will be playable from using just one code and not a multitude of variation of diverses disrepair .

With this system you will always play on the most up-to-dates version regardless of your language !

  • 🗺 Support All Maps , unlike the og version ALL Ctf , Flashpoints , Clash and Push maps are now officially supported for the first time ever in hide and seek !

  • Also since version 1.12.1 the mode is now future proof as it can detect if a gamemode don't posses a clock and run on its own system , Clash is supported thanks to it !

And to make things more excitings for seekers while they wait , they get the chance to view chill panoramas 🖼 , hand picked by me .

And since version 1.10.8 hiders can now spectate it too !

What made Clash so hard to be added ?

All hide and seek mode use the same base logic they rely on the actual game clock to know how many time remain for hide or seek phase .

Clash is a special case because in this mode there is no clock !

So i had to rewrite the base mode logic to execute dedicated rules if a clock-less mode is detected , it will make a fake clock tick each seconds and all time sensitives conditions that relied on game time will switch and rely on this instead .

At the same time it gave me an excuse to further clean up some relics from the og mode :)

It also made the mode future proof as if any knew mode added to the game in the future dont posses a clock h&s tiny 3 will be able to support it with a simple change that would take 1 minute to do so !

Why Push maps end with a draws ?

It boil down to how the game ignore workshop command in push .

In push until their is a team that push a barricade further than the other the game will consider it a draw no matter what workshop command is sent the game will ignore them . So until devs fix it you have to get the everybody is a winner screen .


  • 🦉 A FreeCamera System for hiders .

For the first time in any version of this game mode , the hiders can use a freecam to freely spectate anything on the map and beyond it !
A features that i wanted to be added for a long time now and it's finnaly here !

It share the same controls as jetpack

Why my characters stand up and can look funny when i go in freecam ?

Lied down players by essence cannot move or move their camera making me unable to read their input for the freecam so player need to stand up .

Reading hiders input without letting them do lots of footsteps sounds was a challenging task but i found a middle ground by disabling floor collision and "froze" player position .

Some char animations will look funky (hello crouching widowmaker) but overall if you were hidden while standing it will not change anything


  • 🎛 Highly Customisable Settings . Whatever version of this mode you prefer , the og or the new , it support both !

Your Game your rules .


  • 📟A Toggelable Radar for seeker , that indicate if a hider is in defined ranges . The radar loose in precision as the amount of hider decrease making it harder and harder for seekers to find the last hiders .
    All values linked to the radar are fully customisable from its best precision (when there is more than 4 hiders) to when only one remain . There is even a per mode modifier to make mode with tiny maps harder than the one with big ones . So no more need for backseat to get a fair and enjoyable game !

* I would prefer to play without it like in the original game mode , is it possible ?

Short answer : YES

If you prefer an experience like in the original mode , you can turn it off in settings , it take 1 second !

Although i personally love it as it permet faster paced games that are really excitings , so i would recomand trying tweaking values linked to it first to your taste recommend to let it on and to tweak values like ranges or the upcoming per game mode ranges instead to your taste first and see if it's better for you.


  • 🚀A JetPack available for hiders only during hiding and freely usable for seekers.

Forget the constant need to press a button to stay in the air or thoses moments where you failed to land precisely on something because it was too small .

With this new system specially optimised for controllers you can move either precisly when you want it to be or go really fast when you want to traverse the map by holding ability 1 ( like soldier 76 sprint) .

  • As Hiders you have access to it during the hiding phase it will let you reach spot that were really tricky to achieve consistanly .

  • For Seekers it let them precisely inspect areas that were really tedious to inspect especially when in no clip , before to see a potential hider hiding in a stone or something you were constantly fighting with gravity but thanks to the jetpack it's no more the case !

  • Ps : Bonus side effect of this system: Moving emote works wanderfully with it , its really goofy and fun as showed here :

Why Does my character feel floaty and can you fix it ?

It feels floaty because you are indeed floating , in this state the gravity is ignored . Because there is no more drag your character will keep its momentum requiring you to compensate .

If i could fix it i would ,
in fact it would simply require me to copy the system already in place to stop the player once they release the down/up key .
The issue is that unlike thoses 2 inputs that are readable by the workshop i can't see your movement inputs , they are indistinguishable of your characters movement preventing me to know when you stopped or when you are intentionally moving .

The milliseconds following an update that would fix that i would update the mode too .


  • 🗳 Brand New Voting System , each player can say if : they want , dont want or are neutral on being seeker .

On top of a that you get to see what other players votes in real time at the bottom of your screen ! A lovely breeze of managed democarcy

Tell me more ! How Does it works ?

The voting system contain 5 tiers , the higher the tier the more likely you will be seeker next round .

  • Tier 4 : Hiders that want to seek

  • Tier 3 : Seekers that want to stay

  • Tier 2 : Hiders and Seekers that are neutral

  • Tier 1 : Hiders that voted No to seek

  • Tier 0 : Seekers that voted no to keep seeking

At the end before the potg ( and the auto reboot) the game will then start at tier 4 and check if all the the needed seekers were choosen , if not it will go to lower tiers each time picking a random player in thoses tier until the seeker team is filled with 1 or 2 seekers depending on the amount of hiders .

This system is a complete evolution of the barebone system that was present in the original mode that was very one dimentional and lacked depth .


  • 📸 Seeker's Victory Cinematics ( ala Junkerstein ) ! Making Seekers victory even more rewarding .

There is also improved ending replay for hiders win .
As the best hider you gain a cute pachimari , you get fancy stars and you can even move :


  • 🪟 Revamped User Interface to make things clear and easy to understand on top of looking sleeker . (were accurate at the time of recording , it has since been improved and they are constantly updated )

  • 🎥 Improved 3rd Person Camera for Hiders and available for the seekers too ! Highly responsive and bug free .

Placed slightly on the right to let you see past your character .


  • 🔊 A toggleable Auto Communication System , will force the hider to communicate when only a certain time remain every few seconds , to make the last moments of a game even more intense .

  • Fully Automated System The game will balance teams during and after the game and restart the game right before potg .

  • Updated Control List , each input were carefully choosen to be the most intuitive on consoles .

  • All New Maps and Heroes Supported When a new ones come out it will be available not long after with a balance pass for the mode .

And like previously said its only SOME
of the hundreds of changes i made either under the hood ( refactoring/rework/update to the code) or things you can witness(like preventing cheating as hider were wrecking ball could roam around , certain emotes that could do it too or even juno's torpedoes)

Credits

This version take as base the old and og version(5005S) on top of some work made on (ACACK) wich both predate overwatch 2 by huge margin .

Used Tricks from tx_browser (8B9H1) to display custom colors and icons from the game's memory .

Starting with version 1.11.1 the mode use a heavily modified version of Xerxes#21917's Adv. NoClip Script Module v1.5 (VETFH) to permit the use of a freecamera for hiders .
Thanks to his incredible work that paved the way to this amazing addition never seen before in a hide and seek game mode .

Lastly even if i dont took any codes straight from thatlucio's troublemaker (PZ2X9) i learned a lots of hud tricks and took inspiration of some of his marvelous hud/menu elements , notably the voting menu !
