THE HOG VILLAGE

Welcome to The Hog Village, a freeroam single player story experience made entirely within the Overwatch Workshop.

In this game mode you play as Cassidy, trying to find your way out of a place you have found yourself in. You have no idea why you are there, all you know is that you are stuck there until you find a way out. But unfortunately, this derelict village has more to offer than what meets the eye. If you can, try to make it out alive.

In the Hog's village you may encounter multiple enemies, here's a list of the enemies and what they can do:

Enemy Name Description Abilities
HOG Main Enemy of the game mode and final boss. Can hit you with his hook, can pull you with his hook, cannot be defeated, do not get close to him while he is roaming or he will chase you.
HAMMER First boss encounter in the game mode. Can charge at you, use firestrike, use hammer down, can be defeated, will always find you.
SCOUT Second boss encounter in the game mode. Can Teleport, knock you down, output lots of damage with SMG, can be defeated, will always find you
WRAITH One of the Hog's allies. Can teleport, will randomly spawn anywhere across the map after "ESCAPE THE CASTLE" mission, will try to kill you on sight or when damaged.
BRAWLER One of the Hog's allies. Can rocket punch, will randomly spawn anywhere across the map after "ESCAPE THE CASTLE" mission, will try to kill you on sight or when damaged.

Game Info

  • Game will approximately take 14 minutes to finish with cutscenes

  • Game has an end FREE MODE so that you can play around with the bosses.

  • Game has 2 modes called Enable Speedrun Timer and Hardcore, access them through the workshop settings menu, instructions shown below.

Enable Speedrun Timer

Creates a speedrun timer underneath the objective as shown below.

Will start after the "FIND HELP" mission has been activated, stops when the story missions end.

Hardcore

Here are the changes made for Hardcore:

  • Dying will end the whole game
  • There is no "FREE MODE" at the end
  • Damage recieved has been increased by 75% (this has not been tested)

IMPORTANT
The last time this gamemode was tested with other players was the 26th of June 2022, if there are any bugs please comment them in this post, please do not ask for new features, an exception to this would be mini challenge modes like the "Hardcore" mode, thanks!

FAQ

New questions may be answered if multiple people ask the same question or if I come up with one to answer.

Will there be multiplayer?

The game mode was intended to be single player so don't get your hopes up if you are wishing for it. The gamemode is specifically designed for 1 player and if someone were to add another player there is a change the game could go beserk. Also, if you are talented enough to make a multiplayer mod, go ahead, just don't forget to credit me :DDD (if you're begging for multiplayer go to my other game mode called The Hog)

Will there be new missions like DLC?

No, a reason for this would already be the sheer size of the script in the workshop editor, and how laggy it would be to add any new DLC. If I were to make DLC it would be in a separate project, not the same one (I'm also not good at story telling). If you want DLC, go to my game mode called The Hog.

Will there be new challenge missions?

Yes, I am currently thinking about other challenge missions to add to the mode so that the game mode will feel more interesting. (suggestions are welcome, just don't go over the top or too abitious, keep it minimal)

Language Support?

If it is asked for, I shall give. (will be separated in different codes tho and may not be accurate)

THE HOG 2???

Yes, the Hog 2 will release in November 34th 5025 and will feature Junker Queen getting kicked out of Junkertown because daddy Hog got resurrected for the thousandth time and kicked her out of Junkertown because lore.
