6v6 Classic

Previously known as '6v6 in Overwatch 2'

I've spent OW2 6v6's entire lifespan playing it, being mostly satisfied and keeping this code updated in turn (I tried my best at least), and now that Season 1 is finally out it felt right to give this code it's very own visual and gameplay overhaul. Like with Overwatch, I'm bringing back fun (to me) and exciting (yet controversial) changes back from the grave! Just like the Overwatch you remember with a very modern twist.

The changes below are inspired from a mix of playing the gamemode and also the very rocky 10 years that Overwatch has been around for. It's less 'Classic' and more 'inspired by the Classics'. Classic-er or Classic-ish if you will. Has tons of inspiration from all eras and years of the 10 crazy years this game has provided.

General

  • Format is now 2-2-2 Role Lock
  • Respawn time decreased from 12 to 10 seconds base
  • Tri-Monthly hero bans! Every 3 months, 2 heroes from each role are removed from standard play. (6 total)
  • All perks will also build a whopping 4% faster!
  • Healing reduction passive removed (So Classic!)

Game Mode Changes

Clash

  • Base cap time reduced from 20.6 to 8 seconds (Like Control)

Flashpoint

  • Total scoring time increased from 70 seconds to 83 seconds per point (same as Control)

Push

  • Robot movement speed whilst pushing barricade decreased from 1.22 m/s to 1.11 m/s


TANK

D.Va

Base Armor increased from 300 to 400.
  • Total increased from 550 to 650.

Defense Matrix
  • Maximum duration increased from 2 to 2.5 seconds.

  • Regeneration rate decreased by 25%.

Self-Destruct
  • Cost decreased by 5%.

Call Mech
  • Cost decreased by 5%.

Domina

Base Shields increased from 375 to 400.
  • Total increased from 475 to 500.

Reconstruction
  • Shield lifesteal reduced from 755 to 60%.

Photon Magnum
  • Max ammo decreased from 100 to 70.

Barrier Array
  • Cooldown decreased from 17 to 14.

Sonic Repulsors
  • Cooldown increased from 7 to 8 seconds.

  • Knockback decreased by 3%.

Crystal Charge
  • Cooldown increased from 8 to 10 seconds.

Panopticon
  • Cost decreased by 16%.

Doomfist

  • Doomfist is currently unavailable. Balance changes will be listed here when they are available.

Hazard

Base Armor increased from 225 to 250.
  • Total increased from 500 to 525.

Spike Guard
  • Regeneration rate decreased by 46%.

Violent Leap

  • (Bug fix) Total ammo increased from 49 to ~50 to match the hero info screen.

Terra Surge
  • Cost decreased by 7%.

Ultimately, this is a slight reversion to how he was back in the 'Golden Age' of Overwatch. This should feel more familiar to veteraned players. Name change not included.
