Story
Doomfist has set off on a quest, driven by a burning desire for revenge against a certain individual who has challenged his principles. He reaches out to one of his formidable allies within Talon in Samoa, hoping to forge a powerful alliance. To his satisfaction, Ramattra, with his imposing presence and shared sense of purpose, lends his support to Doomfist’s mission, ready to stand by him as they navigate the twisted paths of their ambition. |
Combat
1) Basics
Before entering battle, you can attack an enemy, allowing your party members to act first while dealing some damage to the enemies.
Battles are turn-based and require strategy. You can choose to attack, use an item, or guard yourself as long as it's your turn. Before performing an action, you may move within your ring to better position your character and line up attacks.
Turns are distinguished by colors on the left HUD in battles.

2) Attacks / Skills
Basic attacks are simple and restore some MP.
Skills, on the other hand, cost MP and are much more powerful. Their power can be enhanced if their quick-time event is completed successfully.
There are two main types of quick-time events. Only very few skills require you to perform both.
Timing (Ultimate Button) | Mashing (Primary & Secondary Fire Button) |
These skills require you to time your button press once the bar at the top enters the right-side gap. | These skills require you to mash your buttons back and forth until the bar on top fills up. |
¦
3) Perfect Guarding
A Perfect Guard is when you successfully mitigate incoming damage by either timing or holding down your crouch button before/while getting struck.
Some Characters have a specialty when Perfect Guarding.
In Doomfist's case, he will counterattack when the timing is extremely precise; as seen in the example video at the bottom.
Ramattra will use his shield when attempting to Perfect Guard and can mitigate projectiles beforehand.
Note: Having "Toggle Crouch" can cause many issues. If possible switch to "Crouch" in the settings of your game.
Singular Hit | Consecutive Hits |
Getting hit once every few times require you to time your guard button right before getting struck. | Getting hit rapidly will necessitate you to keep holding guard in addition to timing the initial strike. |
Tip: Mashing won't help. timing is generous; too early is better than too late. | Tip: Failing the initial hit is detrimental here; too late is better than too early. |

4) Buffs, Debuffs, Status Effects & Criticals
Buffs and Debuffs
These are statistical changes that occur during battle, usually as a result of specific skills used by allies and/or enemies.
Status Effects
These apply certain elements to someone, that affect them for a certain duration, either being a set time or a turn amount.
Critical Hits
These only happen when a headshot is done, striking a knocked-down or frozen enemy, or when a back attack is performed.
Back attacks can only be done when striking the enemy's back. But only certain skills can do so; all normal attacks will always work. |
¦
5) Akande's Resurgence
Akande's Resurgence is a specific move only Doomfist himself can do. It allows you to move freely and go wild with no cooldowns for a short duration. It needs to be charged in the course of battle. |
¦
6) Leveling
Completing battles will grant you XP and Money. When a character reaches the required XP, they will level up which will increase their stats. Each character's level-up has a different increase in stats. Note that there is no maximum level. This graph just shows the XP needed until level 30. |
Inventory & Gear
In your inventory, you have several options. You can pause the game, use items to heal after battles or restore your MP. The most important option is equipping Gear. Gear gives benefits to the character you equip it to until you decide to take it off. Explore the map to find Gear in different places! |
Time to Beat
I should mention that this game doesn't support a save system. You should preferably find some time to play it in one sitting.
Average completion times
Speedrun (story only) | Any % (normal playthrough) | 100% (all collectibles) |
---|---|---|
1h 15min (75min) - 1h 50min (110min) | 2h 45min (165min) - 3h 20min (200min) | 3h 40min (220min) - 4h (240min) |
These numbers can vary depending if you are familiar with turn-based RPGs; especially if you played Coalescence of Crime, whether it's your 1st time playing or you already played this game mode numerous times.
