A recreation of Hanzo's Scatter Arrow using Workshop Projectiles. Replaces Storm Arrow.
Details
- Storm Arrow capacity reduced from 5 to 1
- Cooldown reduced from 10 to 8 seconds
- Cancelling now refunds the cooldown
- While ability is active, the 30% bow draw move speed penalty is incurred
- Initial shot now deals 75 damage and serves as the center fragment of the scatter shot
- 5 additional fragments spread out from the impact point of the initial shot at a 15 degree angle
- These fragments deal 75 damage and cannot crit, but ricochet up to 4 times
Known issues
- NEW 4/20/23: A fellow workshopper pointed out to me that function I wrote to calculate the trajectories for the fragments has some issues with vertical angles, which causes some issues with this mode. I'll update it when I get the chance to troubleshoot the function.
- Fragments are sometimes not visible due to a bug with Workshop Projectiles.
- Occasionally the Detect Firing State rule will fail and the regular Storm Arrow ability will trigger.
- The fragments may not spawn properly (likely due to terrain clipping issues).
- The initial shot has inconsistent interactions with barriers, hero hurtboxes, and damage absorption/reflection abilities. This is due to the relatively simple algorithm used to predict the impact point of the initial shot.

ok after viewing the scatter arrow in the community crafted mode, it seems to ALWAYS be in a star patterm, but this recreation doesnt seem to always do that
I think joshbird doesn't update this code anymore, although the code is the best recreation of the Scatterarrow that we have
the scattered arrows seem to go in a vertical type of triangle/star shape, i thought it was completley horizontal
2 years later and I randomly stumbed across this site again. Since we kinda have a scatterarrow in the game again but its not cool as the original, I decided to try this code again nad fix the issues. Thanks to AI it was really easy and I managed to fix the pattern (horizontal pattern instead of a circle which works while looking up or down) and the activation being buggy. I am just gonna share the code if anyone will ever read this: ABNYF, Maybe I will update this again, bc using the stormarrow as activation looks good but it has a delay between shooting and counting as "is firing primary" which is basically impossible to skip

It's a cool mode but it's weird how you shoot the scatter arrow because it only works sometimes and stuff. Could you substitute the Scatterarrow for the Stormarrows because also the storm arrows somehow don't work properly with the scatterarrow (I'm on PS5)
Yeah, I think there might be an issue with how I was calculating the trajectories for the fragments. Someone pointed it out to me in the workshop.codes discord. I'll try to fix it when I get the chance and give you another comment reply when I update this.
