Work In Progress Version
Only had 4 days since the announcement of shion to make the mode . I had to cut corner and so the defining features of this version need a bit more time in the oven .
They will come online in the coming days/week !
Especially the forza like race with player position displayed in real time !
This mode is an evolution of the Jetpack Cat Race game mode , it support all its features on top of adding tons of things to spice things up , here are (some of ) the details :
Support More Heroes
With tracks designed to permit the use of a maximum of heroes and yet aiming to be fun and challenging .
(an upcoming update will also try to add all heroes that can use moving emotes like kiri's skateboard or posses interesting mobilties abilities)
Practice in peace
Like in Og mode you can practice the track in peace at your own pace and try to beat the Lobby's Best Score while you wait for a game or when you join in to chill <3 .
Races (coming soon)
You can race against other players that voted to participate . Like real race game you get to see what position players are in the race . With a scoreboard on hud as well as in game .
Client Side Language
(implemented but no translation added yet)
Let players change of language on the fly and locally so you can play with a korean that would see everything in korean al while on your end , you see everything displayed in english ! .
New Tracks (more incoming):
Made especially for grounded plays , also more gritty and complex than their aerial counterparts .
Improved Race Track Creator :
Made it easier to create tracks and improved visuals keybind and debugging tools .
Also fixed numerous bugs .
Improved Hud and Visuals:
With Handmade Control points design and improved Hud (coming soon)
( note with the release version not all features and improvoment are in ( notably the race mode improved spectating , starting block , starting block gates design and a podium)
Tutorial :
I will add more details , and screenshots when i get time.
Be sure to enable the workshop inspector first
Menu > Options -> Gameplay > General > Custom Games >Workshop > Enable Workshop inspector
Copy the rule named ADD YOUR MAP here , it will be moved down the list .
Change the Name of it to be the map you wish , open it and change the condition to display the map you want .
Also Create a blank rule it will serve us later .
Go enable the creator mode in the workshop settings ( the yellow hammer button )
Enable only the map that you want .
Start the game
Place the starting point and make your track .
i RECOMMEND using hammond as a char to place stuff , it is the perfect middle ground char to know if the track is too hard . ( and its also because the checkpoints are offsets for him)
Keep in mind the track must loop !
Do not place checkpoint on top of the starting point it will serve as a checkpoint on its own.Now that you made your track Press Start/Escape , open the workshop inspector .
Select global and set the inspector to pause ( be sure the progress bar is at the maximum right) Once you have done that locate the ( x ) button at the bottom and click on it .
Open the blank rule , and locate the paste button ( orange button in the event rules side) and click on it .
Now that you dropped everything in there you will have to only select the 2 first values (they are the coordinates of respectively the track start and all the checkpoints)
Copy them using a button Named copy that is nearby the paste button u used previously .
Once copied go to the rules that you named after the map you are working on and Paste your 2 rules in it .
Now Close this rule and delete the blank one ( otherwise it will cause issues )
Go in the workshop settings and disable the racetrack creator .
Press start/escape and reboot the lobby .
Congratulation you made your own track !
Now save it as a preset .
Ps : If you're really proud of it comment with a share code , if i like it i will add it to the base mode rooster on top of being credited for it !

Using the race creator, none of the coordinates save to the inspector logs. They show up when in the dev mode but you are unable to copy and paste into the editor. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Just trying to do the expanse map along the edge.

I think the problem I'm having is the inspector doesn't actually save the copy and paste. I don't think that's on your end, must be an overwatch problem/bug. Thanks for the tutorial though! Still going to try messing around with it

Thank you ! its only the beginning ! I will add at least 3 more maps today Circuit Royal , Hanaoka and Lunar Horizon . I will pimp up a bit more the hud as well before resuming the work on the race mode .
For the Bike Time sadly you can only increase the time by 4 times and because its only 4 sec it is 20 sec max , i wish the devs would let us do more 😔
