Balanced deathmatch
- This custom game mode introduces a completely new set of rules with the intent to create the most fair and balanced deathmatch experience for you and your friends. Play as any hero of any role to warm up while searching for a match or find out who’s the deadliest player in your group.
- In a normal deathmatch some heroes are utterly useless (prime example of that would be Mercy) while other ones are extremely overpowered (mostly tanks). Here almost every hero has been changed and rebalanced in order to have an equal chance of winning in a duel. Previously unfair heroes now require more skill and effort to secure an elimination, for example Moira’s primary fire is now very aim-dependent, all tanks have reduced HP pools which makes them more vulnerable and easier to punish, etc. In a nutshell: your skill has much more impact in this game mode. A good Widowmaker can kill a Winston before he lands on her, however Winston himself can now deal a lot of burst damage with his secondary fire + leap + melee combo. Counter-pick is still possible here, but that is the inevitable nature of the game itself.
- Get fully healed for each elimination. As it often happens in a standard deathmatch after any confrontation with an enemy you end up frantically running across the whole map searching for a healthpack to save you. So in this deathmatch any elimination will heal you to full. You can stay alive for as long as you keep killing your opponents. Healthpacks have been completely removed, thus high mobility heroes will not have any health advantage. Your only choice is to fight for your life.
- In summary, pure skill is the most important factor to achieve victory, regardless of your hero’s role normal game.
