Brigitte's Infected Deathmatch

OVERVIEW


There's a threat on the battlefield and the "it" is the one who dies first. Infected players are given a timer, if it reaches zero, they will die and lose a point, but will cure from the infection. Infected players also move faster and can also gain additional time by infecting others or collecting health packs. This is a game of tag, but with long arms and a shield.


GAMEPLAY


For controls, players have their Primary Fire and Ultimate ability removed, but Whip Shot, Barrier Shield, and Shield Bash are the only use of inputs in this mode.

At regular intervals, the player who dies first becomes infected. Alternatively, other players can become infected by getting hit by an infected player. Infected players have a visually green bad aura effect and can move 25% faster, helping them keep up with other healthy players. They also have a green radioactive icon that reveals their position.

Infected players usually start with a 30-second timer and then respawning cured. Players usually have to wait about 3 seconds before respawning from death. When the timer reaches 10 seconds or lower, the effect of Lucio's Sound Barrier appears around the screen to signify a warning that the player is running out of time, indicating that an Infection Overload is imminent. An Infection Overload counts as a death and can result in losing a point.

Bonus Time

Bonus time can be gained from the following events.

  • +15 seconds from Infecting healthy players
  • +10 seconds from eliminating an infected player - (Can also count after infecting healthy players, resulting in a total of 25 seconds)
  • +5 seconds from collecting Mega health packs - (Heal over 75 health from health packs)
  • +3 seconds from collecting Small health packs - (Health 75 health or lower from health packs)

Bonus time can still be given, even when the timer is paused from being the only infected player.

However, at the start of the game, The first infected player always starts with 45 seconds as they need to infect a player to begin the spread.


NOTES


  • The effect of Lucio's Sounds Barrier is not visible to other players but yourself.
  • Event Healing from health packs are fixed and not health pack type dependent.
  • The infected player's timer is paused when there are the only player who's infected.
  • You can combo from Whip Shot to Shield Bash.
  • As long as you have enough time, if you're unable to eliminate infected players or infect healthy players, you can constantly extend the timer by a short amount by standing on top of a small health pack.
  • In most cases, clashing (counter-charging) with Shield Bash can refill Whip Shot just in time for you to use as soon as you get up.
