This page details what data we collect, what we do with that data, how long we keep that data, and how you can request to delete this data.
To keep it short; We keep data collecting to a minimum and we keep it non-personal. Email addresses are always optional and are encrypted where used.
When you use the website you are given a token to identify you. This token is completely annonymous and can not be used to identify you personally and expires after 8 hours of no activity. This token is saved in our database and is kept for a maximum of 1 month. An annoymized IP address is saved along with this token. Instead of saving your full IP address the last digits are removed. For example, if your IP address is 126.96.36.199 your IP address is saved as 188.8.131.52.
We track certain actions you perform on Workshop.codes. These actions are tied to your visitor token and contain no information that could personally identify you. This data is saved to our database and is stored for a maximum of 1 month. We use this data for analytics that is shown to users of this website. For example, this data might be used to show how many visits a specific page has received. There is no way of identifying you through this.
When you create an account only the information we ask for is saved. Your username is public. Your password is encrypted and can not be read in case of a data breach. The use of an Email address is completely optional in all cases. Email addresses are encrypted in our database and can not be read in case of a data breach.
Data that is removed from our database might still exist in back-ups for a longer period of time, up to 6 months.
Workshop.codes follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, date and time stamp, and referring/exit pages. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. These log files are not saved by us personally, but may be saved by third parties.
Like any other website, Workshop.codes uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.

|_overwatch_workshop_session||This is the main cookie used for various functionality on Workshop.codes. This includes identifying who you are, either as a logged in user or a non logged in user. This cookie does not contain any personal information or hardware information. It uses a random identifier to confirm who you are between different page visits. This cookie is destroyed once you close the website.|
|remember_token||Used to remember a logged in user between different visits of the website. This cookie is optional and it's use is clearly stated.|
You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. To know more detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers, it can be found at the browsers' respective websites.
If for any reason you wish to delete your account you can do so from your account settings page. This will delete your account along with any associations we have to it. Your data might still exist in back-ups of our database and some of your data might still be present in log files. Both of these will never be kept for a period longer than 6 months.
