Over-Rework | New abilities for every hero


Over-Rework is a custom overwatch gamemode where each hero can range from 3-5 new abilities. The majority of heroes have 4 abilities, and less heroes have 5 abilities than 3. Characters may have simple changes, all abilities changed, or even Role Changes! Each hero can have a difficulty from 1-5.

NOTE This gamemode is still in heavy development. This means that not all characters are finished, and the characters that are finished may have some bugs are needed to be fixed. Some characters also might have buffs/nears added to them to even them out. Some characters might have new abilities added, new abilities replaced, or just some abilities removed. Characters are being added very quickly. Total of 17 of 32 characters are finished in a time span of 4 1/2 days. That's pretty quick!

Difficulty 2/5

Configuration: Tank (Primary Fire)

  • Automatically used when respawning
  • Infinite duration
  • Damage Drastically reduced

Scope (Ability 1)
Hold for more accurate shots but at the cost of speed
Replaces: Reconfigure

Barrier Producer (Ability 2)
Gain a shield that makes you invincible for 7 seconds

Cannon upgrade (Interact)
Your Cannon (Primary Fire) becomes stronger for 5 seconds

Bastion is not AI compatible


Difficulty 5/5

Heavy Hammer (Secondary Fire)
Swing your hammer with a massive hit that stuns enemies around you


  • Can now be canceled by pressing charge again (Default: LSHIFT)
  • The player that was pinned (If any) will get sent flyining in the dircetion you are facing when the charge is canceled

Spirits Within Me (Interact)
Create a radius with crazy effects inside that hurt enemies
Enemies indside the radius get these effects:

  • Lifted high in the air
  • Damaged MASSIVELY
  • Knocked Down For 5 Seconds

Must require: death (You must be dead in order to work this ability)


Difficulty 1/5

Big Body (Passive)
When above 300 health, you take 65% less damage (35% damage taken)

Chain Hook

  • Now reloads your gun automatically

Toxic Waste Releaser (Ability 2)
Send all of the toxins in Roadhog's body everywhere! They damage players in the radius of roadhog, but also deal damage to the roadhog that uses it, too :()
Replaces: Take a breather

Health Restore (Interact)
Heal 75 health but in quantaties of 4 to heal 300 quickly

Roadhog is AI compatible

Knuckle Sandwich (Melee)
A melee may do more damage than regular...

Energy Grenades (Primary Fire)

  • New and only ammunition for Zarya's particle cannon
  • Take up one ammo

Particle Barrier

  • Is now bigger
  • Teammates inside the bubble will be invincible as well
  • Cannot be destroyed
  • Is invisible to the other team COMPLETELY
  • Lasts for 5 seconds

Zarya is AI compatible

Damage Per Second/Minute


Difficulty 3/5

Ult charger (Passive)
Gain your ult faster than normally, but resets on death

Attract (Ability 1)
Grasp enemies in a 6 meter radius of you reeeeeaaaaaly close to you

Escape Bomb (Ability 2)
Place a bomb that immediately explodes, dealing damage to enemies and knocking you backwards

Packed Punches (Interact)
Punch a bunch of times at increased damage

Call mech (Ultimate)
Gain mech control for 15 seconds. Destroy mech once time is up

Sticky Bombs (Primary Fire)
Sticky bombs are the new ammunition for echo

  • Shot in clusters of 1, which means holding the button will shoot them all constantly

Stiff Lift (Ability 1)
Shoot in the sky, but then stop moving up and instantly start falling again
Replaces: Flight

Focusing Beam

  • Sets enemies on fire if touched, which will continue to hurt enemies regardless of them being hit by the laser

Airplane mode (Interact)
Fly in the air, and stay in the air for a split second


Difficulty 2/5

I'm alive (Passive)
Earning a kill with total mayhem bombs will resurect you instantly

Concussion mine

  • Now automatically explodes when used
  • Can be used more frequently, for the cooldown is scaled to 4 seconds

Special Delivery (Interact)
Drop multiple rounds of bombs on players, launching forward after each round


  • Moves really slow
  • Slowly moves faster and faster until it becomes too fast

Super Shooter (Secondary Fire)
Shoot multiple bullets at high speeds
Replaces: Fan the hammer

Combat Roll

  • Gives a "small" jump boost after use

Flashes of yellow and white (Ability 2)
Uses flash-bang in quantaties of four

Cowboy mode (Interact)
More enhanced abilities for 7 seconds
Abilities include:

  • Becoming faster
  • Becoming stronger
  • Cooldowns use less time

McCree is AI compatible

Winged Chaos (Passive)
Hold Jump (Default: SPACE) while in the air to fly forward at high speeds

Projectile (Ability 1)
Just a projectile that's shot :P
Replaces: Guardian Angel

Boomerang (Ability 2)
A projectile that deals less damage and has less range, but returns back to you
Replaces: Resurrect

Launch Bomb (Interact)
Launch forward, and explode enemies nearby, which launches you upward


Difficulty 1/5

Wraith Form

  • No cooldown
  • Hold down to automatically spam button
  • Stop holding button and wraith form stops spamming
  • No longer reloads your gun

Death Zone (Ability 2)
A simple death blossom that doesn't last as long
Replaces: Shadow Step

Slip N Slide (Interact)
Place down a field at your feet an area that causes enemies to fall and constantly move forward kinda slowly

Reaper is AI compatible


Difficulty 2/5


  • Have a slight arc to them, which means that aiming for someone will require aiming just a tad bit above

Kinetic Grasp

  • When kinetic grasp ends, it creates a field that damages players around him


  • No cooldown
  • No projectile speed
  • No gravity Basically, rocks are locked in place

Float (Interact)
Lift yourself high above the ground to get to high places


Difficulty 4/5

Trash items (Passive)
Deal 2x as much damage to non player items (Barriers, turrets, ect.)

Pulse bomb (Primary fire)
Pulse bombs are the new ammunition for tracer

  • Drastic damage reduce


  • Damages players near you when blinking

Eye of the storm (Ability 2)
Recall doesn't move your position, but it damages players around the spot you were at when you started the recall

Rainbow storm (Interact)
Become a storm that unleashes clouds in different colors (i.e red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple)

Wrecking Ball

Difficulty 5/5

Metal balls in the air (Passive)
Holding Jump (Default SPACE) will lift you high in the sky

Crack sizzle pop (Secondary Fire)
After using grapple beam, you have no gravity for short duration. While you have no gravity, you explode a few times, damaging enemies around you

Light Laser (Ability 2)
Shoot a laser that damages enemies the laser touches. It is very powerful, but doesn't last long
Replaces: Adaptive shield

Bomb (Interact)
Shoot a projectile that explodes after some time being, which the explosion damages enemies in the explosion



Difficulty 3/5


  • Duration Decreased
  • If enemy wakes up naturally, then the slept enemy takes massive damage

Multinade (Ability 2)
Shoot multiple grenades, but at reduced damage and healing

Healing bomb (Interact)
Shoot a projectile that heals allies (Including yourself)


Difficulty 4/5

Sonic amplifier

  • Shoots all bullets in a constant stream, instead of 4 at once

Stunwave (Secondary Fire)
Booping people with soundwave stuns the enemies, not launching them back

Self improvement (Ability 2)

  • Become 50% faster for 2.5 seconds
  • Heal 20 health/second for 5 seconds
  • Allies do not get boosted, only you do Replaces: Amp it up

Self giving (Interact)
Sacrifice your health to allies around you

  • The damage effect gets nullified if the music playing is healing music


Difficulty 4/5

Time to ready up (Passive)
When reloading, you take less damage

Healing Kshetr (Ability 2)
Heal teammates around you basically to full health.
Replaces: Teleporter

Floatie (Interact)
Launch yourself in the air. It's not high, but it's high enough to get up to places

Health Restorer (Secondary Fire)
Shoot a projectile that heals teammates a TON

  • This needs to be your primary way of healing

Replaces: Scope

Grappling hook

  • Damages enemies in the radius of you

Healing area (Interact)
Hold to heal allies around you a little

  • This should NOT be your primary way of healing
  • Like moira's healing, it needs to recharge if healing reaches 0

Laser eyes (Ultimate)
In addition to infra sight, anybody you look at starts taking damage
